Resilience

The essence behind this piece was to portray the human qualities that carried us through the pandemic. The past few years have been very challenging for many of us. Yet, humanity endures, and time and again, we've proven that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.

The child represents us while the mother reaching for the moon embodies our potential as humans. The contrast between the mother and the child highlights the fact that we have so much to offer and are capable of achieving far greater things than we often give ourselves credit for. This is the central idea behind 'Resilience.'

This piece serves as a celebration of humanity, a reminder that there's always something to be grateful for and appreciating our own virtues.

Although it might sound cheesy and overused, this piece makes me think of those famous words from Neil Armstrong when set foot on the Moon, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." It's just breathtaking.

In the grand scheme of things, we are so insignificant in the vastness of the universe (see Pale Blue Dot). Yet we have accomplished so much... we have so much to give and to celebrate.

This piece leaves room for many interpretations. I myself find hard to put my thoughts into words. I personally consider the song Last Ride Of the Day by Nightwish another, rather epic and beautiful, interpretation of this piece:

Once upon a night we'll wake to the carnival of life
The beauty of this ride ahead, such an incredible high
It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead
This moment, the dawn of humanity
The last ride of the day
