A Shelter Deep In The Forest
This sculpture is molded around a plaster cast of a hand (it's actually my left hand). Initially, I had a completely different concept in mind for my creation. Unfortunately (or fortunately), one of the fingers broke off while I was handling it, forcing me to change my orginal design so that I could conceal the damage and several other imperfections.
In the end, I drew inspiration from those magical places we've all seen in movies where gnomes and fairies live: mushrooms. However, these are in fact, glowing mushrooms. LEDs came to the rescue.
I must admit that the final result surpasses what I had initially envisioned for this sculpture. The play of light among the leaves and grass that surrounds it creates an organic and magical atmosphere.
